Under the leadership of the Honorable Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Abdoulie Jobe, the National Centre for Arts and Culture has launched a nationwide registration drive for all events and festival organizers.
The initiative aims to create a comprehensive National Events and Festival Catalogue, which will serve as a source for promoting cultural tourism and community-based activities.
According to officials of the National Centre for Arts and Culture, the registration will ensure recognition and visibility of events at national and international levels and promote unity and collaboration between the government and partner agencies.
Additionally, the exercise will promote improved planning, coordination, and security support for future public events. It will also facilitate the inclusion of events in a national calendar that are accessible to stakeholders, tourists, development partners, the media, and the general public.
Finally, the exercise will allow the tourism ministry to advocate for increased funding from the National Assembly to provide more resources to both the ministry and the center.
