MoTAC Holds Intra-Sectoral Retreat With Renewed Commitment To Boosting Tourism, Arts and Culture

The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, along with its satellite agencies, held a day-long intra-sectoral retreat on Tuesday, 29th July 2025, at the Ocean Bay Hotel, Cape Point, Bakau.
The retreat is part of the strategies put in place by this Ministry to monitor progress in the implementation of planned activities geared towards achieving sector goals as enshrined in the Recovery-Focused National Development Plan 2023-2027, dubbed “YIRIWAA.”
It is expected that during the discussions, the different agencies under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, will share updates on the progress of activities, plans, common concerns, and challenges faced within their sectors.
The retreat would also provide the opportunity for the agencies to develop practical recommendations and the way forward, thereby charting a unified direction for the betterment and advancement of the Tourism, Arts, and Culture sectors in The Gambia.
The Honourable Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Abdoulie Jobe, and team  were  in attendance, as well as the Director Generals of the different agencies under this Ministry.
The Project Director of the (TDRGP) and the Country Representative of the EU-YEP Tourism and Creative Industries Project were all  in attendance as well.
