GTBoard’s Senior Management Calls on Minister Abdoulie Jobe Following His Award

The top management of The Gambia Tourism Board, led by the Director General, Mrs. Ida Jeng-Njie, on Monday, 9th February, 2026, paid a courtesy call on Honourable Abdoulie Jobe, Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, following his award as the World’s  ‘Best Minister’ award  2026   by the World Government Summit, which recently ended in Dubai.

The visit was intended to complement and convey messages of solidarity with the Minister on his award, and to further express gratitude for his guidance and leadership in managing the tourism sector.

In receiving the delegation, Minister Jobe said the award is not about him, but rather it is for the entire country as a whole.

He used the opportunity to thank the organizers for the recognition and further stated that it is a good step in the right direction for Destination Gambia.

The Minister also called for teamwork and respect for authority to further advance the cause of making the Gambia the best destination for tourists.

It is worth recalling that Minister Jobe was selected from a shortlist of 10 ministers for his outstanding leadership in translating policy into tangible results, driving innovation, and delivering measurable social impact.

The award recognizes ministers whose initiatives are scalable beyond national borders and inspire governments worldwide to improve public service delivery by leveraging advanced technologies and digital solutions.
