Preparations are in high gear for the hosting of the annual Banjul Cultural Festival once again, which normally takes place in late December and into the New Year. The event attracts thousands of people from all walks of life within and outside the country.
To that effect, a task force meeting was held on Tuesday, 4th November 2025, in the conference room of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, in Banjul.
Chaired on behalf of the Honorable Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Abdoulie Jobe, Mr. Hassoum Ceesay, the Director General, National Centre for Arts and Culture, said the meeting was held for the different sub-groups to present their budgets for scrutiny before final adoption and for them to inform the chair of the task force how far they have gone with preparations regarding the hosting of this year’s celebrations.
“We are doing everything possible to ensure smooth hosting of this year’s celebrations. All hands are on deck, and all the stakeholders are really participating in the meetings and other logistical needs for the event, said Hassoum Ceesay, Director General, National Centre for Arts and Culture.
