Gambia’s2024/2025 Tourists Season Begins

The Gambia Experience’s maiden flight has flown in 176 tourists from the United Kingdom, marking the beginning of the country’s 2024/2025 tourist season.

This year’s season is expected to attract tourists from the Scandinavian market after a long break, signaling a very successful tourist season for The Gambia.

On arrival, the new holidaymakers were received by Honourable Abdoulie Jobe, Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture; Abubacarr S. Camara, Director General of The Gambia Tourism Board; and other key stakeholders in the tourism sector.

Tourism is one of the key driving forces of the economy of The Gambia, providing much-needed foreign currency for the socio-economic development of the country. It also provides employment opportunities for women and the youth.

Apart from the sea, sun, and sand, Destination Gambia is well-known for its friendly-natured people, nice food, and rich cultural heritage.

This year’s season is expected to attract over 232,000 tourists to the Smiling Coast of Africa.
