New GTBoard Chairperson Says He Is Committed To Lift Gambia’s Tourism Sector   New GTBoard Chairperson Says He Is Committed To Lift Gambia’s Tourism Sector Mr. Momodou Bamba Saho, the new chairperson of the Gambia Tourism Board governing body, said he is committed to taking the Gambia’s tourism sector to higher heights. He made these remarks while paying a courtesy call on the Honorable Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Abdoulie Jobe, on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at his office in Banjul.Mr. Momodou Bamba Saho, the new chairperson of the Gambia Tourism Board governing body, said he is committed to taking the Gambia’s tourism sector to higher heights.

He made these remarks while paying a courtesy call on the Honorable Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Abdoulie Jobe, on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at his office in Banjul.

Speaking at the brief ceremony, Minister Jobe congratulated the new chairperson for accepting the position and further reassured him of the Ministry’s support and collaboration to ensure a smooth tenure in office for the betterment of the tourism sector.

“You can count on us for anything. The future of the Gambia’s tourism sector looks bright. So we need to work together and achieve these goals as a sector,” he said.

The Minister also used the occasion to remind the chairperson of the laws and regulations of the board that could guide him to effectively function as a board chairperson.

Mr. Abubacarr S. Camara, Director General of the Gambia Tourism Board, commended Mr. Saho for stepping in as the new chairperson for the board. He further reassured him of his support at all times.

On his Mr. Momodou Bamba Saho, through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, thanked His Excellency President Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia, for endorsing his appointment. He stated that he will do his utmost best to lift the Gambia’s tourism sector to a higher height.

The ceremony was chaired by Mrs. Amie Njie, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
