Portuguese Social Media Influencer Meets With Tourism Minister Jobe

Mr. Fernando Rocha, a social media influencer from Portugal, paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Abdoulie Jobe, Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, in his office in Banjul on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

During the brief encounter with the Honourable Minister, the Portuguese influencer described the people of The Gambia as friendly and smiling.
He promised to show a good image of the Gambia in his home country, Portugal, where he has a large number of followers.

In welcoming the guest, Minister Jobe stated that the government is attempting to revamp the tourism sector by increasing the number of tourist arrivals significantly.

“We can do this together with the Gambia Tourism Board and all the relevant stakeholders in the tourism sector, he added.”

He also added that The Gambia is a peaceful country and that the people are nice and kindhearted. Minister Jobe finally assured him of his office’s support and collaboration at all times.
