Senegalese Students On Holiday Meet With Tourism Minister

A group of Senegalese students is currently in Gambia for their usual school holiday break, called Colonie de Vacances.

The educational trip provided students with the opportunity to learn about the Gambia’s rich cultural diversity and visit historical sites, thereby promoting, showcasing, and marketing Destination Gambia.

On Wednesday, 27th August 2025, the group was received by the Honorable Abdoulie Jobe, Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture at the Gambia Tourism Board in Kotu.

In addressing the students, Minister Jobe advised them to take their education seriously, as they would be the future leaders of tomorrow.

He described the visit as important, as it would further cement the cordial relations between the Gambia and Senegal.

The Minister further reassured the students of his Ministry’s commitment to ensuring that they enjoy their holiday in the Gambia, free from any hitches.

The group is expected to be in the Gambia for about a month.
