Ministry Tourism Holds Intersectoral Retreat

On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture held a day-long intersectoral retreat with its satellite institutions at the Kombo Beach Hotel in Kotu.

The retreat offers a timely opportunity to review progress on third- and fourth-quarter 2025 activities, assess performance, identify challenges, and refine strategies for effective delivery.

Speaking at the event, Honourable Abdoulie Jobe, Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, stated that tourism, arts, and culture remain key drivers of economic growth, job creation, cultural preservation, and international visibility.

“This retreat is not merely a reporting exercise; it is a platform for honest reflection and practical dialogue. I encourage you to share achievements, constraints, and lessons learned so we can strengthen our collective performance, “ he stated.

Minister Jobe further emphasized the need for timely delivery, results, teamwork, coordination, synergy, and sustained stakeholder engagement.

“ We must also ensure that our monitoring and evaluation systems are timely, robust, and aligned with national priorities. By the end of this retreat, we should have a clear understanding of our progress, agreed priority actions for the remainder of the year, and a renewed commitment to collaboration and excellence,” he said.

He commended the progress made so far, noting that much remains to be done to achieve the desired goals and objectives.

The retreat was chaired by Mrs. Amie Njie, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and was attended by all the director generals of the different satellite institutions and partners under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
