United Nigeria Airlines Ready To Commence Flights to The Gambia

A key milestone at this year’s Akwaaba African Travel Market Expo in Lagos, Nigeria, was the announcement that United Airlines will commence flights to The Gambia, marking a major development in the country’s international air connectivity.

The announcement came during a Destination Gambia stakeholder reception in Lagos, as tourism officials and industry players seek to strengthen travel, business, and tourism ties between The Gambia and Nigeria.

The Gambian delegation to the event was headed by Honourable Abdoulie Jobe, Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture; Mrs. Amie Njie, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture; Mrs.  Ida Jeng Njie, Director General of The Gambia Tourism Board; Mr. Momodou Bamba Saho, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Gambia Tourism Board; Hon. Saikou Bah, Chairman of the Tourism Select Committee; and other key stakeholders in the tourism sector of The Gambia.

This development is significant because it will bridge the gap in air connectivity between The Gambia and Nigeria, boost tourism and trade, and bring regional integration to life.
