Hon. Abdoulie Jobe, Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, on Sunday, 3rd May 2026, together with GTBoard Chairman Mr. Momodou Bamba Saho and members of the Governing Body, has embarked on a four-day familiarization tour of tourism sites across the country.
On the first day, the team visited key locations in the North Bank Region, including Barra, Jufureh, Kerewan, Jahaur Mandika, and Nyanga Bantang, where they inspected facilities, engaged local stakeholders, and assessed proposed ecolodge development sites.
The tour aims to strengthen tourism development, improve destination management, and ensure that projects across the regions are effectively monitored and supported.
The touring team is expected to visit other tourism facilities in the Gambia’s hinterland to assess issues, challenges, and potential solutions, and to determine the way forward to promote Destination Gambia.
